In June, the whole school took part in Science Week. Our theme was sound and hearing. Children enjoyed a wide range of activities, such as developing soundproofing, learning sign language from members of our school community, making musical instruments from junk and going on sound walks around the school grounds. On the Thursday and Friday of Science Week, our school joined up with Years 3 and 4 from the junior school. Children moved between classes and outside spaces, working with children of all ages on a range of Science activities. Depicted in the photo are children experimenting with bubbles. Coat hangers, paper tubes, straws, string, polystyrene places and cups were all put to great use in making bubble makers. The biggest bubbles were over a meter in diameter!
Year 1 and 2 children visited Southend this month. They are currently using a lot of that which they found out about the place to help Mrs Life, the 'mayor of Southend' to encourage more people to visit the town!
